ANNUAL BUSINESS MEETING HIGHLIGHTS
September 24, 2008
12:30 p.m.
Call to Order
Meeting called to order at 12:30 p.m. by President, Sarah Socha.
Secretary’s Report
Motion to waive reading of secretary’s report made by Chris Pruitt, seconded by Dave Schoonover. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report
Motion to waive reading of treasurer’s report made by Kay Marose, seconded by Julie Dollahon. Motion carried.
Committee Reports
Legislative Committee - Julie Dollahon reports the committee will sponsor an advanced intake worker training every other year. The committee will also be reviewing basic intake worker training questions currently provided on the certification exam.
Training Committee - Kim Bolden reports the committee will sponsor five trainings for the upcoming year. Cost for the trainings will remain the same. Kim also briefly discussed the upcoming web-based training, which will shorten the current intake worker training from 5 days to 3 days, with 2 days being completed on-line.
Legislative Committee - Tom Matykowski reports the Threat to Harm Social Workers Bill has been voted down again in the state legislature. The committee will focus on other legislation of interest.
Special Assignments
WCHSA – Randi Celusta/Kay Marose
Kay reports WJCIA has had a representative at WCHSA meetings for approximately 3-4 years to assist with reviewing legislation and administrative memos. Also have been involved in discussions about workloads, caseworker contact policy, reviewing the Interagency Agreement, and returning 17 year olds to the Juvenile Justice System.
Introduction of new WJCIA Board President, Kay Marose. Kay recognized Sarah Socha, Outgoing President for her efforts and service.
Nomination Committee
Election of Board Members. A list of nominees for the board was provided to the membership. A motion to accept all nominees was made by Chris Pruitt and seconded by Dave Schoonover. Elections were completed.
Adjournment
A motion to adjourn the meeting made by Chris Pruitt, seconded by Glenda Cooper. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 1:00 p.m.
