President’s Report

Case Problems
Case involving a question of venue. The case involves an almost 17 yr old juvenile whose father lives in Dane Co. and mother is currently homeless, but looking for housing outside of the county. The juvenile is on a Consent Decree through Iowa County and has new charges pending that took place outside the State of Wisconsin on a school field trip. The question is who should handle the current pending charges, follow case, and provide services? Options discussed included keeping the case in Iowa Co., forwarding the charges to the county of residence if the juvenile ends up living out of county, and possibly working out some type of courtesy supervision arrangement.
